The Mid-Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS)
18th Annual Conference
April 4-5, 1997

Clarence Zuvekas, Program Chair for the MACLAS XVIII Conference welcomes proposal for panels, workshops, roundtables and individual papers. Sessions will be scheduled for 1 1/2 hours as is our custom. The program chair strongly encourages panel organizers to include a discussant on their panels. The format should normally permit three papers per panel with each presenter allowed 15-18 minutes and the discussant given 10-15 minutes, leaving approximately 15-20 minutes for questions from the audience.

The program chair will organize individual papers into panels for which chairs and discussants will be sought. Please remember that MACLAS conference participants must be a member of MACLAS. If you are interested in serving in one of these capacities, notify the program chair.
