The James Street Prize for the best article published by a MACLAS member in the 2005 volume of Latin American Essays: Anna Indych-López, City University of New York, “Mexican Curios: Rivera, Orozco, Siqueiros, and the Mexican Arts Exhibition of 1930-32”; and Brian Greenan, University of Maryland Baltimore County, “Crisis and Contention in Contemporary Ecuador: An Analysis of Two Distinctive Social Movements.”

The John D. Martz III Prize for the best paper presented by a graduate student at the 2006 MACLAS Conference: No prize awarded.
